Thrashing of Sikh driver is a serene evidence of Police brutality, says Delhi High Court
Posted: 19 Jun 2019 07:58 AM PDTNEW DELHI, India—Accepting a PIL (Personal Interest Litigation) seeking an independent CBI investigation into the brutal thrashing of Sikh driver and his son by the Delhi police cops, the Delhi High Court today issued notice to the Centre, the Delhi government and Delhi police asking the trio to submit a report about the incident within a week.
“The incident is a serene evidence of police brutality,” observed the Delhi High Court bench of justices Jayant Nath and Najmi Waziri.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Delhi High Court has deferred next hearing onto July 2.
It may be recalled here that a Sikh driver Sarabjit Singh and his son Balwant Singh were brutally thrashed by the Delhi police cops on June 16. The video clips of this brutal thrashing had gone viral over social following which a sharp outrage erupted among Sikh masses. 
Although the Delhi police is trying to justify the brutal thrashing by saying that the victim Sikh driver has a criminal background, but still the rational government and non-government bodies as well as the common masses are not accepting the Delhi police’s excuses.
