Notably, the Indian government was irking over these Sikh leaders, especially Gopal Singh Chawla from a long time for their open stand in favor of Sikh sovereignty.
The move has come just a day ahead of meeting between Indian and Pakistani about Kartarpur corridor. On July 14, the Indian and Pakistani diplomats will deliberate upon the technical aspects of Kartarpur corridor delegates at the Wagah border station.
On July 12, the Pakistan government revealed that it has reconstituted the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee.
It is learnt that the Pakistan government has picked Ameer Singh, who is also the brother of Bishan Singh, to spearhead the PSGPC but the Indian media has also started objecting over his name.
Reacting to his removal from the post of PSGPC’s general secretary, Gopal Singh Chawla has said that if his removal can pave way for the opening of Kartarpur corridor then he accepts it happily.
