It is learnt that this three member committee comprising of IAS Anurag Verma, IAS K. Shiva Prasad and IG Jatinder Singh Aulakh has been directed to submit its report within a week.
Sources within the Punjab government have revealed that the locals of Bargari have demanded a Bus stand while the natives of Behbal Klan have demanded a hospital commemorated to the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh and Shaheed Bhai Gurjit Singh Nikke Sarawan.
A Punjab government’s official informed that the report submitted by this three member committee will be presented in the next cabinet meeting of Punjab government.
It is learnt that IG Jatinder Singh Aulakh, one of the committee members, hails from Bargari.
It may be recalled here that two Sikhs had attained martyrdom while several others were left seriously injured in an unprovoked firing opened by the Punjab police on peacefully protesting Sikhs in Kotkapura and Behbal Klan on October 14, 2015. The Sikh protesters were demanding justice in Bargari sacrilege case, but they were rewarded with bullets.
Recently, the Punjab government had announced to build a memorial commemorated to the victim Sikh protesters who were fired upon by the Punjab police for demanding justice in sacrilege cases.
