They have said that the Union government has also looted the rights of state governments under the garb of so called “terrorism” and Pakistan. In a press release, the AISSF president Manjit Singh Bhoma has said that the amendment made into UAPA was a highly deliberated move aimed at the conversion of India into a Hindu nation. He added that this draconian law snatches the fundamental rights of speech and expression of the citizens of India.
Other AISSF leaders namely Sarabjit Singh Jammu, Satnam Singh Kanda and Balwinder Singh Khojkipur said that the BJP will now use this draconian law to oppress the Sikhs, Muslims, Christians and Schedule Caste people in India.
They have appealed the minorities residing in India to oppose this draconian law by uniting on a common platform.
It may be recalled here that the BJP led Indian government had passed the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act Amendment Bill in the parliament on July 24. The new amendments in this draconian law empower the state tools to dub anyone as a terrorist.
