Sikh girl allegedly forced to adopt Islam and marry a Muslim boy in Pakistan
Posted: 30 Aug 2019 08:57 AM PDTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—An incident of the alleged abduction of a Sikh girl and her conversion to Islam by a Muslim youth in Pakistan has come to limelight today. It is coming to fore that the Muslim youth married a Sikh girl named Jagjit Kaur after abducting her on gunpoint. 
Sources have informed that the girl, aged around 19 years, is the daughter of a Granthi who is serving in Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib.

August 29, 2019Manmohan Singh, brother of Jagjit Kaur, said in a video that her sister was threatened to accept Islam by the abductor by saying that her brothers and father would be shot if she did not accept Islam. “I request Imran Khan and Army Chief of Pakistan to help us in bringing the girl back so that it does not backfire on them on the Kartarpur and Kashmir issues,” he added.
    On the other hand, a video of the girl at the wedding ceremony has also gone viral on social media. In the video, the girl, who is seen sitting beside the boy, says that she was marrying the boy without any pressure.
    Meanwhile, the Indian politicians have started shooting statements against Pakistan. “Shocking incident of a Sikh girl being kidnapped & forced to convert to Islam in Nankana Sahib, Pakistan,” the east Punjab’s CM Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted as he tagged the video while requesting the Pakistani PM Imran Khan to take firm and immediate action.
    He has also urged the External Affairs Minister of India S Jaishankar to take up the issue with Pakistan.
    Media reports reveal that the west Punjab’s chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered an investigation into the incident as soon as the reports emerged that a Sikh girl had been forcibly converted to Islam and made to marry a Muslim man in Nankana Sahib of Lahore.
