Diplomatic sources have revealed that the Pakistan government has accepted the proposal of India to offer visa-free entry for up to 5,000 Sikh pilgrims. Beside it, the demand of arrival of the pilgrims in groups or individually walking to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib has also been accepted.
However, it is learnt that the Indian government has also asked the Pakistan government to allow Sikh pilgrims to prepare and distribute free food during their stay in Kartarpur.
Officials from both sides will meet at 10am on the Indian side of the Wagah-Attari border where they are expected to finalize a draft agreement regarding opening of the corridor that will allow visa-free access to Sikh pilgrims from India to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib.
