NAPA expecting portraits of Sikh Gurus will be removed tomorrow from Bar
North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) is continuously putting pressure on the 
owners of a Hollywood, Calif., restaurant – Pike Café and bar – to remove portraits
 of Sikh Gurus from the establishment’s walls. Disclosing this Satnam Singh Chahal
 executive Director of the Association said uphill now portraits of Sikh Gurus ar
 not removed by the owners with the excuse that they need painter to paint the walls
 after removing these portraits of Sikh Gurus.
 Chahal said Consular General of India in Sanfrancisco Mr N.Parthasarthy is also
 leaving no stone unturned to use his office to remove these portraits of Sikh Gurus.
 Chahal said that he had written to Gerald Chaleff Police Administrator Special 
 Assistant for Constitutional Policing Los Angles and Congressman John Germany and 
 explained them the concern of the Sikh Community. When again contacted the Manager 
 of the bar we were told by him that they hired some painters tomorrow and the
 portraits of Sikh Gurus can be removed tomorrow after the availability of painters.
 When asked why you dared to put portraits of Sikh Gurus on the walls of your bar
 where alcohol is being served every time. We were not aware that these portraits
 were of Sikh Gurus.
 Chahal said that this bar is being owned by an Committed, Inc. which owns eight 
 restaurants in Southern California, including two branches of the Swingers’ Diner,
 Bar Lubitsch, Jones Hollywood, El Carmen, and the Roger Room. Macpherson is also 
 owner of the Bowery Hotel and the Jane Hotel, and recently opened the Marlton, all
 in New York. His estimated net worth is $800 million. Macpherson was unreachable
 for comment at the Committed, Inc.’s West Hollywood headquarters. Chahal said that
 he is expecting that the portraits of Sikh Gurus will be removed till the end of the
 day tomorrow as Indian Consular General Mr N.Parthasarthy is also leaving no stone 
 unturned to make this happen

But What about those Sikh families, who deal and sell Cigarettes and Liquors from
their restaurants and corner shops ??
