Sikh delegation 1AMRITSAR SAHIB (June 26, 2014)—A Sikh delegation today met with Giani Gurbachan Singh, appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, on the issue of deteriorating health of Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara, and government’s indifferent attitude of not giving him medical treatment.  Bhai Hawara is a heroic figure for Sikhs around the world.
The delegation included Bhai Baljit Singh Khalsa, editor “Vangar” magazine, All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) president Bhai Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad, Bhai Sukhjinder Singh Jaura, Bhai Kanwarbir Singh Gill (International Sikh Organization), and  Bibi Sandeep Kaur (Bhai Dharam Singh Khalsa Charitable Trust).
All the Sikh leaders mentioned above urged the Jathedar to pressurize Center and the Punjab government to ensure human rights of Bhai Hawara and provide necessary medical treatment for him at the earliest.
While talking to media persons, Giani Gurbachan Singh said Sri Akal Takht Sahib would take necessary steps for proper treatment of Bhai Hawara.

Sikh delegation 2Bhai Hawara who is detained in Tihar Jail Delhi, is facing severe pain of backbone for one and half months now, but jail authorities are not giving medical treatment to him thereby making his health condition more worst,  leaving the entire Sikh world worried. Sikhs across the world are criticizing the rude attitude the authorities are showing towards Bhai Hawara and terming it as a huge violation of human rights. Some Sikh organizations have staged protests against the brutality of Indian government.
It is notable that Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann has made Delhi Lt. Governor aware of the health condition of Bhai Hawara and indifferent attitude of concerned authority. Led by Prof. Mohinder Pal Singh, the party delegation has also met Lt. Governor in this regard. The governor assured them to take the decision over the issue by June 24 evening but no improvement has been witnessed yet in this direction.
Bhai Baljit Singh Khalsa said that neither local administration, nor center government are sincere over the deteriorating health of the Sikh political prisoners. He said SAD (A), Dal Khalsa, Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala (SYFB) and other Panthik organization have resolved that if government would be still acquiring such indifferent attitude, they would prepare collective strategy to take harsh steps.
