The government has been coming up with various policies.
Dear Balbir Singh,
India, home to nearly a fifth of the world’s population, has set some really ambitiousgoals for itself in renewable energy. To achieve its target of 175 GW in renewable-energy capacity by 2022, the government has been coming up with various policies. Consequently, several power-generation companies, including the traditional ones, are quickly shifting their focus to renewable energy.

Tata Power bets big on clean energy
The country's leading power producer is looking to raise its market share in green energy to 60% by 2025 from 25% at present. It is gaining prominence in solar rooftop and pumps, and will gradually close down thermal-power plants as they age. The company, which has an INR44,000 crore debt, plans to reduce it to INR25,000 crore this financial year.
TECH
Paytm Insider eyes bigger digital-events pie
From high-engagement events such as quizzes and interactive storytelling to exclusive listening parties, the possibilities for new digital-event formats to emerge are now endless. However, Paytm Insider will have to keep building and upgrading its tech competencies if it wants to compete with the likes of BookMyShow.
ECONOMY
Reviving India’s MSMEs
Unorganised businesses and MSMEs face an acute problem of little or no access to credit. Worse, a prolonged economic slowdown followed by the debilitating effects of Covid-19 have crippled this already cash-strapped sector. Cash flow-based lending could be the key to reviving a segment that accounts for more than a quarter of the country’s GDP.
