In response to the Twelve Pages Article: “GURU GOBIND SINGH’S BANI”

by the Respected S. Raghbir Singh jee Dhillon, published in the Abstracts of Sikh Studies, Jan-Mar 2013 at pages 36 to 47,  I wish to share –

 1)      In the Guru Granth Sahib at page 646, we read Guru’s Divine Word:

“Eka Bani Ek Gur Eko Shabd Vichaar. Sachaa Sauda Hut Sach Ratni   Bharaiy Bhandaar...”
2)      We all know that before breathing his last on 7 October 1708, Guru Gobind Singh Sahib had ordained all the Sikhs: “Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukam Hai, Guru Maniyo Granth”, which means “GURU GRANTH SAHIB”, though there could be Asankh Granth as mentioned in Stanza (17) of Jupp Jee Sahib !

3)      In the Guru Granth Sahib, there is no Bani under Mahla 6, 7, 8 and 10 but the Sikhs revere all the Gurus Sahibaan from Guru Nanak Sahib to Guru Gobind Singh Sahib (1469 – 1708).

4)      Accordingly, the Sikhs spread all over the world have been obeying the Guru’s Edict. Hence, we should continue to do so. In the Episode No. 40, we are also advised to follow all commands of Guru, not what Suit us ! [Ref. Book: Episodes from Lives of the Gurus – Parchian Sewadas – English Translation & Commentary by (late) Dr. Kharak Singh (Mann) and S. Gurtej Singh, IAS/IPS/Prof. of Sikhism (Ed. 1995). However those persons, who believe in Bachiter Natak or the socalled Dasam Granth, have to either accept or discard all the narrations but they can’t pick up some and throw away others as they wish?

5)      Reference is also made to pages 55 and 62 of Book: “HukamNamaiy”  by (late) Dr. Piara Singh Padam, but why no reliance is made about his own writing at pages 43 – 44, which suspects their authenticity ?

6)      Reg. ‘Deh Siva Bar mohe ehe...’ please go through all the (233) Paras Including Para 231, which will show its true meaning. There was no battle at Nanded in 1708 ! [Also view Website: www.bindra.net/Shiva]

7)      When we read all the (55) Paras of “Vaar Durga Kee”, it becomes crystal clear that the Sikhs have been praying to the Hindu Deity Bhagauti, which can’t be equated with Akall Purkh even though some Sikh intellectuals/writers tried to misrepresent by following the same rut. In Guru Granth Sahib, meaning of Bhagauti could also be viewed vide pages 71, 88, 274, 912, 1347-1348..

8)      Hence, there is no need to revise the Guru’s directions by the SGPC and its paid Head Ministers because they are merely acting under the influence of Punjab CM Shri Parkash Singh Badal, who himself has been following the Hindutva through RSS/BJP/Deravaad.

With best wishes,
Gurmit Singh (Sydney – Australia)
