Dakha Saheb
You know Professor Puran singh was PhD in Botany and his specialisation was grasses. He was the fonder director of Grass Institute in Deharadun. When his experimental plots were flooded, he penned famous poem "Bhala hoia mera chrkha tuta, jind ajabo shuti".
No one can question Professor Saheb Singh, he was university professor too with Punjabi as his major.
There was one more Professor from your village, I dont know why you have not mentioned him, he was Professor Sant singh Sekhon, though later with the blessing of Late Partap singh Kairon, he got the post of Principal and he is now known as Principal Sant singh Sekhon.
The other mentioned has taught in colleges, though they were not full professor, they were at least college lecturer, and every lecturer in Punjab suffix himself as Professor.

I wrote to him that there were several such instances where Suffix "Prof" is being used but he had not questioned them? Names mentioned below were in that context, without targeting any one specifically.
