Mortal remains of Giani Sukhjinder Singh cremated in Amritsar

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Today, the mortal remains of Sri Darbar Sahib’s granthi sevadar Giani Sukhjinder Singh were cremated in the crematorium situated near Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Baba Deep Singh Ji. Notably, Giani Sukhjinder Singh had passed away today in the morning hours.
Following the recitation of Japji Sahib, Bhai Sultan Singh performed Ardas for his spiritual peace while Giani Sukhjinder Singh’s son Paramdeep Singh lit his funeral pyre.
Before the cremation, eminent Sikh personalities including Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib’s Jathedar Giani  Raghbir Singh, Sri Darbar Sahib’s head granthi Giani Jagtar Singh, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal, Baba Harnam Singh, Baba Avtar Singh Sur Singh, Baba Sukhwinder Singh Bhuri Wale, Principal Sukhwant Singh, and several others paid honor to Giani Sukhjinder Singh by putting shawls on his mortal remains.
Giani Sukhjinder Singh, who was serving as a granthi singh at sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib for many years, had passed away at 07:00 am (IST).
During his service tenure in SGPC, he also served as a head granthi at Gurdwara Sri Tarn Taran Sahib for a long time before getting transferred to Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Academically, Giani Sukhjinder Singh was very sound besides having a thorough study of religious scriptures of the Sikh religion.
