HANUMANGARH, Rajasthan, India (April 24, 2015)—Tensions prevailed in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district when a sacred volume of Guru Granth Sahib was stolen by a follower of the Sacha Sauda cult. Bawri Shankar, a Sacha Sauda cult follower of Gurmeet Ram Rahim committed beadbi as he buried the saroop after stealing it from Gurdwara Baba Deep singh Ji.
A report was filed with the police after a sevadar noticed the saroop was missing from the Gurdwara.
Some villagers living nearby the Gurdwara claimed to have seen Shankar carrying the saroop with him.
After the incidents, the police and local sevadars went to his house to investigate and found the saroop buried in the ground.  The saroop was recovered in damaged condition.
