He further stated that the Pakistan government is aspirant of establishing robust relations with India but the latter is not responding in positive manner. “Even the Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa backs the Pakistan government’s desire to pursue talks with India as he has realized that Pakistan can’t develop alone” he added.
Warmly welcoming the initiative of Pakistan government, the Punjab Cabinet Minister has asserted that this is the message from Pakistan to the whole world and don’t think anyone can oppose this noble gesture.
It may be recalled here that the proposal for opening corridor to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib had first come up in 2000 during the tenure of Parvez Musharraf in Pakistan. Although, the Pakistan allows the Indian Sikhs to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib twice or thrice in a year through Wagah border but opening of a straight corridor will be an important gesture from Pakistan for the Sikh pilgrims.
