47 to 84 Movie Poster

JALANDHAR, Punjab (May 29, 2014)—Upon receiving clean chit from India’s Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) which is commonly known as the Indian Censor Board (ICB), the Punjabi movie “47 to 84 Hun Mai Kisnu Watan Kahunga” is scheduled to be released on May 30, 2014 across the World.

 The movie is said to be based on the sorrows of people who suffered during the 1947 partition of India, and Pakistan, and the Sikh Genocide of 1984. It also contains true happenings regarding the Sikh freedom fighter’s militant movement. Previously, the CBFC reportedly refused to give clearance to the movie on the grounds that the movie could damage communal harmony, and adversely affect the social environment.

In a press conference, film Producer Babli Singh and director Rajiv Sharma said that this is a simple movie, based on true events which took place in November of 1984,that ends with a note of hope. They said the movie which presents  real sorrows felt by victims of Sikh genocide, will be released on May 30 across India, and in other countries around the world.
