Sikh activists mark fourth death anniversary of Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola in Tarn Taran

18 Aug 2019 08:19 AM PDTCHANDIGARH, Punjab—The 4th death anniversary of the former AISSF leader and Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s son-in-law Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola was today observed at Sri Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran.

Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola, who was enduring exile for the Sikh cause since 1991, was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in Peoria (near Chicago, USA) under mysterious circumstances on August 17, 2015 i.e. when Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle for the release of political Sikh prisoners was at peak in Punjab.

An Akhand Path Sahib in this concern was laid on August 16 at Sri Manji Sahib situated inside Sri Darbar Sahib, Tarn Taran where the starting Hukamnama (order of the Almighty Lord) came as
“ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ਹਮਰੀ ਗਣਤ ਨ ਗਣੀਆ ਕਾਈ ਅਪਣਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪਛਾਣਿ ॥
ਹਾਥ ਦੇਇ ਰਾਖੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣਿ
॥੧॥”.
ਸਾਬਕਾ ਫੇਡਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਗੂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਪੂ ਸੂਰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਦੇ ਜਵਾਈ ਭਾਈ ਸਤਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਭੋਲਾ ਦੀ ਚੌਥੀ ਬਰਸੀ । ਅਸਥਾਨ:- ਸ੍ਰੀ ਮੰਜੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਗੁਰੂਦੁਆਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤਰਨ ਤਾਰਨ।

Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, Raagi Jatha of Bhai Harjit Singh delighted the Sikh sangat by singing Gurbani shabad “ਗਗਨ ਦਮਾਮਾ ਬਾਜਿਓ ਪਰਿਓ ਨੀਸਾਨੈ ਘਾਉ ।।ਖੇਤੁ ਜੁ ਮਾਂਡਿਓ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਅਬ ਜੂਝਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਉ ।।੧ ।।” in Raag Gujri. 
 

The SGPC appointed Granthi Singhs performed the ‘Ardas’ on this occasion and read the sacred Hukamnama  “ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਗੋ ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੈ ਸੂਰਾ॥” (He alone is called a warrior, who is attached to the Lord’s Love in this age).

Interacting with media on this occasion, SAD (Amritsar) leader S. Navdeep Singh Amritsar shed light on the contributions of Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola in the struggle for Sikh sovereignty during 1980’s and 1990’s. “He was a true son of the tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who laid his whole life while fighting for the cause of Sikh nation”, he added.

Sikh activists Bhai Pritpal Singh Amritsar, Bhai Resham Singh Tarn Taran, Bhai Gursharan Singh Sohal, Bhai Navdeep Singh Bajwa, Bhai Pritpal Singh Tarn Taran etc. were also present on this occasion.
