1984 Sikh gencide victimsNEW DELHI, India (May 15, 2015)—Delhi based victims of 1984 Sikh genocide on Thursday carried out a peaceful March from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib to Jantar-Mantar against non-seriousness of BJP’s union government toward implementing of its announcement regarding compensation made before Delhi Assembly elections.
The union government had announced that the compensation worth Rs 5 Lakhs each would be paid to victims of Sikh genocide. To ensure the implementation of the announcement, the procession was organized under the banner of ‘Victims of Anti-Sikh Pogroms Society (Regd.).
Atma Singh Lubana, Inder Singh and Mansha Singh who led the March, demanded that the compensation be paid promptly. Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjit Singh GK extended support to the victims and assured that the committee extended solidarity with the victims.
GK said that the issue should be resolved with every possible way be it come under jurisdiction of Modi government or Kejriwal government.
The victims said that the struggle would be continue till justice is delivered. After the procession, delegation of the victims handed over memorandum to Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh. DSGMC members MS Sirsa, Parmjit Singh Chandok and Gurdev Singh Bhola also participated the March.
