AMRITSAR SAHIB / CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Reacting to the Supreme Court’s verdict in favour of controversial movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the Supreme Court has addressed verdict only by listening the arguments of one side and the SGPC was not given any chance to represent views of Sikh community on this movie.

Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the legal team of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee were analysing the Supreme Court’s verdict and a review petition in this concern will be moved tomorrow before the Supreme Court bench.
The state government of Punjab played a trick within few hours of Supreme Court’s verdict to earn sympathy of Sikh masses by issuing a verbal order of ban on ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ through Cabinet minister Triptrajinder Singh Bajwa.

However, Captain Amarinder Singh issued a press statement in the evening hours in which he has said that the Punjab government’s ban on ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ doesn’t hold any legal value as the Supreme Court has favoured the movie. Captain Amarinder Singh’s statement was published on 07:04 pm by the Punjabi vernacular ‘Daily Ajit’.
